Getting ready to search for the XB-70 crash site. Using two
Apple iBooks and a Garmin GPS. My father and I had camped
at Owl Canyon Campground; about a 15 minute drive north of
Barstow, CA. Photo by Duncan Orr.

This is the XB-70 impact site as it looks today.

This cross is in memory of Maj. Cross who died as the XB-70's
copilot on the fateful day.

There are still a few small pieces of the Valkyrie at the
crash site.

Another piece of wreckage.

There were many strange rubber materials used in the Valkyrie.
This piece is still flexible even after the sun has been beating
down on it for more than thirty years.

A few Joshua trees at the crash site.
